Which engines is this tool suitable for?

This kit is compatible with most overhead valve (OHV) and overhead cam (OHC) engines found in cars, light trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, small engines (lawnmowers, generators) and many diesel engines. It works well on common 4-cylinder, V6 and V8 configurations from brands like Ford, GM, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, VW, BMW, and similar. The multi-size adapters (M14, M16, M18) and flexible lever design cover a wide range of valve spring retainer diameters and engine layouts. Not ideal for very compact modern DOHC engines with extremely tight spacing or engines requiring camshaft-specific tools—always check clearance before use.

Can it be used without removing the cylinder head?
